The college received Equipment worth over 2.5 million birr from Cure Blindess Project

The donation is for establishment of an advanced wet lab for training Ophthalmology residents.

Thanks to the support the department has now a state of the art wet lab.

The donations inclue two operating microscopes with display screens, CCTV cameras for surveillance, 7 cataract sets, 48 sets of model eyes, 2 hard discs and 2 surgeon stools among others.

ኮሌጁ በጤናው ዘርፍ ከተሰማሩ የግል ድርጅቶች ጋር በትብብር ለመስራት በሚያስችሉ ሁኔታዎች ዙሪያ ውይይት አካሄደ።

ሐምሌ 12፣ 2017 ዓ.ም፤ ባሕር ዳር፦  á‰ á‰Łáˆ•ር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ሕክምናና ጤና ሳይንስ ኮሌጅ  á‰ áŒ¤áŠ“á‹ ዘርፍ ከተሰማሩ የግል ድርጂት ተዎካዮች ጋር የማህበረሰቡን ጤና ለመጠበቅና የተሻለ የሕክምና አገልግሎት ለመስጠት በጋራ ለመስራት በሚያስችሉ ሁኔታዎችና የአሰራር ማዕቀፎች ዘሪያ በጥበበ ግዮን ግቢ ውይይት አድርጓል።

በውይይቱ በተለይም የኩላሊት እጥበት ሕክምና አገልግሎት እና የላቀ የላቦራቶሪ አገልግሎት እንደ የትብብር መነሻ ዘርፎች ትኩረት ተሰጥቶባቸዋል።

በመጨረሻም እንግዶቹ የኮሌጁን የተለያዩ የሥራና የአገልግሎት ክፍሎችን ጎብኝተዋል። ከተጎበኙት መካከልም ጥበበ ግዮን ስፔሻላይዝድ ሆስፒታል የላቦራቶሪ አገልግሎት ክፍል፣ የጣና የምርምርና ዳይግኖስቲክ ማዕከል የ3ዲ ቴክኖሎጅ ማዕከል እንዲሁም የአማራጭ ሕክምና አገልግሎት የሚጀመርበት ማዕከል ይገኙበታል።

Rebuilding Health Systems Amid Crisis

The college hosted a timely public lecture titled "Rebuilding Health Systems in Times of Crisis: Policy Responses and Resilience in Conflict-Affected Areas of the Amhara Region, Ethiopia."

The keynote address was delivered by renowned Health Systems and Policy Specialist Professor Mezgebu Yitayal, who provided in-depth insights into the impact of conflict on health systems and proposed practical policy responses for building resilience in fragile settings.

Orthopedics and Traumatology Department holds Workshop on Disabilities from Traditional Bone Setting

Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Bahir Dar University, organized succefully the 3rd round workshop on disabilities associated with traditional bone setting practices.

The training was delivered by"BOSAD" a national orthopedics project which works on traditional bone setting practices and asaociated complications from July 10-12, 2025.

This round of training, held for the third time, targeted school teachers and health professionals in and around Bahir Dar city.
