Student Rights & Responsibilities

At our institution, we are committed to fostering a supportive and enriching academic environment for all our students. Understanding your rights and duties is essential for a successful and respectful learning experience.


Student Rights:

Subject to relevant laws and regulations, as a student, you have the right to:

  • Learn and Inquire: Engage in learning, inquire, seek knowledge, and understand.
  • Protection of Rights: Be protected in your constitutional human rights and freedoms, as well as the personal safety and security of your personal property.
  • Fair Academic Evaluation: Be evaluated solely on an academic basis, consistent with the established curricula and University Hospitals standards.
  • Free Exchange of Ideas: Participate in a free exchange of ideas within an open academic environment.
  • Access to Clinical Resources: Have access to patients, clinical instructors, and preceptors for your learning, under strict supervision.

Duties of Students:

To ensure a productive and respectful environment for everyone, students are duty-bound to:

  • Observe Laws and Regulations: Adhere to the country’s laws and all academic and non-academic rules and regulations of the University and the Hospital.
  • Active Participation & Respect: Attend all required academic activities, including classes, laboratory practice, seminars, bedside teaching, ward rounds, grand rounds, journal clubs, public lectures, research, community attachments, and conferences. Students must also respect the individual authority of any academic staff or invited guests involved in the teaching-learning process.
  • Respectful Interaction: Interact with all members of the Department, School, College, and University Hospital community respectfully and courteously.
  • Respect Privacy and Dignity: Respect the privacy and dignity of all staff, customers, and stakeholders with whom you interact.
  • Proper Use of Property: Make proper use of and care for College and University Hospital property.
  • Report Damage & Liability: Report any damage to College and University Hospital property and be liable to pay for possible maintenance or replacement costs.
  • Ethical Conduct: Refrain from unlawful and unethical practices.
