Bahir Dar, July 14, 2025 — College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS) at Bahir Dar University hosted an external curriculum review workshop for its newly designed PhD program in Health Systems and Policy. The event aimed at refining and strengthening the academic rigor and relevance of the program through expert review and feedback.

The workshop opened with a welcome speech by Prof. Mezgebu Yitayal, Director of the Public Health Education and Services, followed by an opening remark from Dr. Amsalu Worku, Corporate Director for Health Sciences Education and Services.

“Enhancing Maternal and Newborn Health Care Quality Using eHealth Innovation in Public Health Facilities in West Gojjam Zone, Northwest Ethiopia: Implementation Research.”

In a remarkable show of global solidarity, Professor Thomas Bohrer of Kulbach Hospital, Germany, has donated thoracic surgery equipment worth over 2,000 Euros to Tibebe Ghion Specialized Hospital, Bahir Dar University.
