The Mecha Demographic Surveillance and Field Research Center (MDSFRC), under the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Bahir Dar University, is one of the 16 research centers dedicated to advancing health research and community development. Established in 2013, the center is located in Mecha District of the Amhara Regional State, one of the most populous and diverse districts in Northwest Ethiopia.

College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS), Bahir Dar University, recently paid a collaborative visit to Rennes I University, France, as part of its ongoing efforts to expand global partnerships in education, research, and innovation.
During the high-level discussions, both institutions explored a wide range of potential areas for collaboration. A key focus of the dialogue was the establishment of a state-of-the-art Mycology Laboratory at Tana Research and Diagnostic Center under the college.
