BA in Economics
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics is an undergraduate program designed to provide students with a strong foundation in economic theory, quantitative analysis, applied economics, development, econometrics, and related areas. The program prepares graduates with the knowledge and analytical skills required for further study and professional engagement in economics and related fields.
Admission Requirements
Applicants seeking admission to the BA in Economics program must fulfill the admission requirements established by the Ministry of Education, Bahir Dar University, and/or the Department of Economics.
Admission is subject to the applicable university and national higher education regulations.
Graduation Requirements
To qualify for the award of the BA Degree in Economics, students must:
Successfully complete 148 credit hours (Cr. Hr.), equivalent to 250 Credit Points (CP), except in applicable waiver cases.
Attain a minimum cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.00.
Complete the program without receiving an I, F, Fx, NG, or other failing grade in any course.
