The Ethiopian Academy of Sciences (EAS) opened its Chapter Office in the Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology (EiTEX), Bahir Dar University. The office is launched in the modern Green Digital Library of EiTEX which has convenient services to students, scholars, researchers and the community having community library sections.

During the opening event, Professor Teketel Yohannes who is the Executive Director of the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences (EAS) and former member of Bahir Dar university has briefly shared when the academy has started its journey and significant achievements in various disciplines of science including conducting nation-wide studies and policy preparations. 

The president of Bahir Dar University Dr. Mengesha Ayene acknowledged the roles of the academy and the long-time academic collaboration and asserted that now, with this crucial step, the two institutions could achieve much more national and global purposes for better academic, research, Innovation and technological results. 

Professor Tamrat Tesfaye, Scientific Director of the Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology (EiTEX), also expressed his gratitude to the academy and Professor Teketel for working with Bahir Dar University closely and stated that the two institutions could create many opportunities for joint success.
