Professor Mezgebu underscored that conflict leaves lasting scars on both health systems and human lives. The path from conflict to health system recovery is challenging—but possible.

Drawing on global and local experiences, he emphasized that with strong leadership, innovation, and active community ownership, resilience can be built even in the most fragile contexts.

The lecture called for all stakeholders—government, NGOs, academia, and communities—to invest in adaptive policy frameworks, collaborative planning, and evidence-based reforms.

By addressing health policy gaps and working in unison, it is possible recover and build a stronger, more equitable, and more resilient health system that ensures no one is left behind.
