BiT-BDU Hosts Curriculum Review Workshop for MSc in Control Systems Engineering

Bahir Dar Institute of Technology Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering organized a curriculum review workshop for the MSc program in Control Systems Engineering.

The reviewed curriculum focused on reviewing and enhancing the curriculum to better equip graduates with foundational and advanced knowledge in the modeling, simulation, and control of dynamic systems. The curriculum is designed to cultivate expertise in adaptive, optimal, and AI-based control methods, addressing modern challenges in automation and system control. It emphasizes hands-on experience through laboratories and project-based learning, particularly in embedded systems and real-time control, while aligning with Ethiopia's national development goals.

The graduates will be prepared to design, implement, and manage advanced instrumentation and control systems across various sectors, including industry, healthcare, and research. They will develop intelligent control strategies, apply advanced signal processing techniques, and operate automated systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and safety. The curriculum also integrates the use of IoT, wireless sensor networks, and smart instrumentation, promoting innovation in medical and industrial applications.

Participants, including faculty, external reviewers, and the curriculum committee, engaged in in-depth discussions to enhance the curriculum’s relevance to current technological trends and the country's industrial and agricultural sectors. Constructive feedback from the workshop will be incorporated to ensure the program’s excellence and impact.
