Bahir Dar University Maritime Academy Graduates 27 Female Sailors for the First Time

The Ethiopian Maritime Training Institute (EMTI), Bahir Dar University held a graduation ceremony of 224 Electro Technical Officers (ETO 26) who are from 33 universities around the country and 3 beyond on the 25th of February 2026. The graduates trained in electrical, electronic and control engineering, maintenance and repair, ship operation control and care for people on board, instrumentation & Automation at the operational level.

[ባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፤ ጥር 21/2018ዓ/ም ] የባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ ከኢትዮጵያ ንግድ ባንክ የባህር ዳር ዲስትሪክት ጋር በመተባበር ለዩኒቨርሲቲው ማህበረሰብ የሚውል የ"ሲቢኢ በእጀ" (CBE Be-Eje) የዲጂታል ብድር እና ቁጠባ አገልግሎት ስምምነት በይፋ ተፈራርሟል። ይህ ስምምነት በተለይ የዩኒቨርሲቲው ሰራተኞች ስልካቸውን በመጠቀም የፋይናንስ አገልግሎቶችን በቀላሉ እንዲያገኙ ለማስቻል ያለመ ነው።

የዩኒቨርሲቲው ፕሬዚዳንት ዶ/ር መንገሻ አየነ በፊርማ ስነ-ስርዓቱ ላይ እንደገለጹት፣ ባንኩ ያመቻቸው ይህ የዲጂታል ብድር አሰራር ሰራተኞች ለሚያጋጥማቸው አነስተኛ የገንዘብ እጥረት ከሰው ከመበደር ይልቅ ስልካቸውን ተጠቅመው ችግራቸውን እንዲፈቱ ያደርጋቸዋል። ፕሬዚዳንቱ አክለውም ባንኩ ከዚህ የዲጂታል ብድር ባሻገር ለዩኒቨርሲቲው ማህበረሰብ የቤት መስሪያ እና የመኪና ብድር አገልግሎቶችን በማመቻቸት ሰፊ የብድር ማዕቀፍ እንዲዘረጋ ጥያቄ እና ሀሳብ አቅርበዋል።

The international conference, which concluded on the second day with keynote speeches and in-depth panel discussions on the topic of the Rule of Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution for Sustainable Peace, concluded by examining the current situation related to the topic, assessing the opportunities, sharing national, regional and international experiences, and suggesting strategic directions.
