Visiting AMU-IUC Outreach activities
11 Dec, 2023
The first phase of both the BDU-IUC and AMU-IUC projects targeted capacity development in research and PhD study outputs that address the community’s considerable challenges. In phase II, both the BDU-IUC and AMU-IUC projects also focus on knowledge sharing and outreach practices to generate win-win situations that combine agricultural productivity increase with the enhancement of ecosystem services, such as regulation of water and sediment flows and carbon sequestration; and improvements of livelihoods, food, and fodder security.
The AMU-IUC started its outreach activities one year earlier than BDU-IUC, and that was the reason this field visit was organized to get experiences and best practices as input for our future project implementation. The aim of the field visit was therefore to visit community outreach activities of AMU-IUC Phase II; so that BDU-IUC can design science-driven outreach demonstration sites and ensure that data will be collected, organized, stored sustainably, and used for creating scientific evidence for monitoring project progress and evaluation of project outputs and outcomes.
