Phase I Objective

General Objective: To build the physical capacities of Bahir Dar University (ICT, Library, Laboratory, English Language, and Extension Skills), which are closely linked with teaching-leaning, demand-driven research, and outreach responsibilities.

Specific objectives:

• To contribute to the utilization of improved infrastructure and services of Bahir Dar University by its stakeholders
• To develop human capacities of different units and departments of the university to address selected cross-cutting issues

Expected intermediate results:

• Modernization of two model labs
• ICT organization and development
• Information and knowledge management
• Gender mainstreaming
• Extension capacities
• English language skills

Phase I outstanding outputs

• Human and physical capacities in ICT, library, and research information systems enhanced 
• RIMS and policies on gender and open access developed 
• A TOEFL center is being established 

Phase II objectives

• promoting and improving the capacity and applicability of RIMS software for academic staff. 
• Incorporating gender-responsive teaching and learning strategies into course content 
• Preparing gender policy implementation guidelines. 
• strengthening and digitizing library facilities while supporting the ICT team.
