Phase I Objective
General Objective: To build the physical capacities of Bahir Dar University (ICT, Library, Laboratory, English Language, and Extension Skills), which are closely linked with teaching-leaning, demand-driven research, and outreach responsibilities.
Specific objectives:
- To contribute to the utilization of improved infrastructure and services of Bahir Dar University by its stakeholders
- To develop human capacities of different units and departments of the university to address selected cross-cutting issues
Expected intermediate results:
- Modernization of two model labs
- ICT organization and development
- Information and knowledge management
- Gender mainstreaming
- Extension capacities
- English language skills
Phase I outstanding outputs
- Human and physical capacities in ICT, library, and research information systems enhanced
- RIMS and policies on gender and open access developed
- A TOEFL center is being established
Phase II objectives
- promoting and improving the capacity and applicability of RIMS software for academic staff.
- Incorporating gender-responsive teaching and learning strategies into course content
- Preparing gender policy implementation guidelines.
- strengthening and digitizing library facilities while supporting the ICT team.
