Introduction
Transversal Institutional Strengthening Project (TISP)
The Transversal Institutional Strengthening Project (TISP) Project in phase I aims at upgrading a range of cross-cutting issues that have hampered the major functions of the university (teaching, research, and community services), including infrastructure (ICT, library, laboratory) and soft skills (gender, extension, and English language). The training of 7 pre-doctoral studies at the international level and one PhD on extension of technologies, as well as upgrading the English language training center and enabling the staff to take English language proficiency tests here at Bahir Dar University, are important parts of the project.
In phase II, it was decided that the IUC program would be considered a project, with the entire project viewed as a sub-project. Consequently, the TISP became one of the sub-projects. Phase II focuses on promoting and improving the capacity and applicability of RIMS and JMS (Journal Management System) software for academic staff. Additionally, it aims to incorporate gender-responsive teaching and learning strategies into course content and to prepare gender policy implementation guidelines. Furthermore, the sub-project seeks to strengthen and digitize library facilities while supporting the ICT team.
