Work Experience
June 2016 - Present: Assistant Professor, University of Bahir Dar, Ethiopian Institute of Technology for Textile and Fashion (EiTEX).
¨Teaching Textile Coloration (printing and dyeing), Dyes and Auxiliaries, Environmental Management in textile Industries, and Advanced Coloration courses to postgraduate and undergraduate students. The focus is on conceptual clarity in the classroom and practical training in the laboratory. (Theory into Practice). It also includes paper critique and writing review papers.
¨Thesis advising to postgraduate and undergraduate students, which encompasses practising stepwise research methodologies for the successful completion of their work.
¨Thesis jury for graduate and undergraduate students, helping students to go on the right track for successful completion of their thesis work.
¨Project coordinator: conceptualising the idea, project proposal, execution of research work, periodical presentation of the results before panel of experts, project report submission, dissemination of the research findings, etc

Research Interest Areas
· Developments in the coloration of textiles
· Application of scCO2, Plasma, and ionic liquids in textile coloration and pre-treatment
· Studies on enzyme application in cotton fabric and the decolorization of wastewater.
Activities on industry institute linkage
2010-2013: Worked as a member of the Technology Transfer group in the chemical processing area
¨ Responsible for strengthening the linkage between the institute and the textile industry.
¨Conducting technical surveys of the wet processing department of textile mills in Ethiopia to improve product quality and increase productivity
¨Conducted technical training programs in textile mills
¨Trained mill technicians in the area of textile testing and instrumental analysis of dyes and chemical auxiliaries
Activities on community services- These services were assigned by the Government of Ethiopia to the academic institutions to help disseminate technical knowledge to the people vin the society in a simple manner for their easy understanding. The service is voluntary to the academic staff members.
