The Bahir Dar Polytechnic Institute, which has transformed itself into Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology and Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, was established in 1963 under the technical cooperation between the Government of USSR and the Imperial Government of Ethiopia.

ንስቲትዩቱ በሰባት ትምህርት ፕሮግራሞች የሥርዓተ ትምህርት ክለሳ አውደ ጥናት አካሄደ
በባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ የኢትዮጵያ ቴክስታይልና ፋሽን ቴክኖሎጂ ኢንስቲትዩት (EiTEX) በሰባት የትምህርት ፕሮግራሞች የተዘጋጁ የሥርዓተ ትምህርት ክለሳዎችን ለማረጋገጥ የሚያስችል አውደ ጥናት አካሄደ። አውደ ጥናቱ የኢንስቲትዩቱ አመራሮች፣ መምህራን፣ የኢንዱስትሪ ባለድርሻ አካላት፣ ከተለያዩ የከፍተኛ ትምህርት ተቋማት የተጋበዙ ምሁራን እና ሌሎች እንግዶች በተገኙበት በውጤት ላይ የተመሠረተ ትምህርት (Outcome-Based Education – OBE) መርህን መሠረት በማድረግ ተካሂዷል።
