Bahir Dar Institute of Technology Holds Curriculum Validation Workshop

The Bahir Dar Institute of Technology (BiT) successfully hosted a Curriculum Validation Workshop centered on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), bringing together faculty deans, instructors, institutional leaders, and stakeholders to review and validate academic programs.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Mitiku Damtie, Scientific Director of Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, underscored the importance of carefully preparing curricula, noting that each program is expected to guide academic delivery for at least five years. He emphasized the need to align courses with technology and digitalization, while prioritizing innovation and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Amare Kassaw, Deputy Scientific Director for Academic Affairs, provided orientation to participants, stressing that the Institute must design forward-looking curricula that meet the demands of modern education.
The workshop concluded with parallel sessions, where faculty members engaged in in-depth discussions around their respective curricula, ensuring that programs reflect the Institute’s mission of quality, continuous improvement, internationalization, and innovation.
