Bahir Dar University’s School of Veterinary Medicine Honors the Class of 2026

(Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, June 27, 2026) - Bahir Dar University’s School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) celebrated a momentous day as 76 students officially graduated on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the BDU Peda Campus National Stadium, Bahir Dar University. This year’s graduating batch highlights the expanding scope and impact of the school’s academic programs, comprising 41 Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) graduates and 35 Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) graduates. Throughout their rigorous academic journey, these graduates demonstrated resilience, determination, and hard work, overcoming numerous challenges to emerge as competent, compassionate, and ethical professionals.
Reflecting on the milestone, Dr. Yeshwas Ferede Alemu, Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine, expressed his pride in the graduates and the growing legacy of the institution: “As the founding Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine, I feel especially honored to witness this historic milestone. Watching our students graduate is not only a celebration of their achievements but also the realization of a shared vision to build a school that prepares competent, compassionate, and ethical veterinarians dedicated to serving society.”
