Collaboration overview and priorities

The department aims to strengthen collaboration with universities, research institutions, veterinary colleges, both nationally and internationally, Government and Regulatory Bodies, Community, and NGOs. These partnerships can include joint research, exchange programs, academic development, policy development, and health improvement.

Among the existing partnerships at the school level, the department is collaborating with;

Priority area: Strengthening Research Capacity, Curriculum Development, ensuring the multidisciplinary approach against both animal and public health challenges, Capacity Building for Faculty and Students, Public Health Integration, and Continuing Education.

Business Relationships: Business Relationships: The key areas for developing business relationships include Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Companies, Veterinary Equipment Suppliers and Diagnostic Laboratories, Livestock Industry and Agribusinesses, Veterinary Clinics and Hospitals, Government and Regulatory Authorities, NGOs and International Organizations, Educational and Research institutions, Technology and Innovation Partnerships, Community Stakeholders and Marketing and Branding Partnerships.

Community: The department ensures strong interaction with livestock owners, animal origin food suppliers, processors, distributors and consumers in and around Bahir Dar City.

Research Partners: Universities, research institutions, government agencies, and international organizations

Governmental Organizations: Ministry of Agriculture, the Ethiopian Veterinary Association, Ethiopian and Amhara Public Health Institutes and local health authorities to enhance veterinary care and public health initiatives.
