SVM Celebrates Academic Milestone with Successful Thesis Defenses

(Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, July 11, 2025) - The School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) at Bahir Dar University proudly concluded a series of successful thesis defenses held from July 7-10, 2025, at the Zenzelma campus. The event marked a significant academic achievement for both the institution and its graduates.

A total of four MSc students in Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics and thirty-one Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) candidates successfully defended their research theses before esteemed evaluation panels. The defenses demonstrated the students' comprehensive research capabilities and the program's commitment to academic excellence.

The event featured distinguished external examiners including Prof. Getachew and Dr. Haileliuel from Addis Ababa University, Prof. Wudu from the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), and Prof. Sefinew and Dr. Zewdu from the University of Gondar. Their expert evaluation and valuable insights significantly enriched the academic discourse.
