(Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, October 31, 2025)- In a significant step toward a more sustainable future, Dr. Tadiose Habte, Country Director for Kyeema Foundation Ethiopia, delivered an engaging seminar titled “A model for Sustainable Development and University Partnership “at the School of Veterinary Medicine, Bahir Dar University. The event, opened by Dean Dr. Yeshwas Ferede, showcased a powerful model for university development partnership that has evolved over a decade.

With over a decade of dedicated partnership, Kyeema Foundation has played a pivotal role in aligning Ethiopia’s national policies and expanding collaboration efforts, most notably with CARE and SNV on Newcastle Disease (ND) control. The foundation’s work not only improves animal health but also secures livelihoods and strengthens community resilience.

Looking ahead, Dr. Tadiose unveiled Kyeema’s new Ethiopia Country Strategy (2024-2028), designed to address the nation’s unique landscape of potential and fragility. The strategy is built on Nutrition and Livelihood, One Health/Welfare, and Innovation and Inclusive Technology.

A central theme of the seminar was the “Ripple Effect” of their integrated model. This approach demonstrates how a single intervention, like sustainable ND vaccination, creates waves of positive change. It directly improves nutrition for families, boosts household income, and creates opportunities for youth innovation, all while being guided by the overarching One Health principle.

The partnership’s success is now being scaled under a new Ethiopia Country Strategy, focusing on Nutrition and Livelihood, One Health and Welfare, and Innovation and Inclusive Tech. Kyeema Foundation envisions scaling its successful model further, cultivating partnerships that drive sustainable development on a broader scale.

The School of Veterinary Medicine extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Tadiose for his invaluable insight and engaging presence, which illuminated the foundation’s impactful work.
