11/04/2025 _The School of Veterinary Medicine hosted an enlightening seminar, "Enhancing Animal Welfare and Biosecurity: Key Insights from My Research Visit to Ghent University & ILVO, Belgium.”

Presented by Dr. Yeshwas Ferede Alemu, the session highlighted innovative strategies and assessment protocols drawn from European research to enhance livestock welfare, strengthen biosecurity, and promote responsible Antimicrobial Use (AMU).

The seminar provided actionable insights into disease prevention, ethical animal management, and policy-relevant approaches, sparking thoughtful discussions on how these practices can be contextualized and applied in Ethiopia.

The event underscored the critical role of global collaboration in advancing sustainable livestock farming practices through improved animal welfare and biosecurity intervention measures.
