Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology (EiTEX)
The Bahir Dar Polytechnic Institute, which has transformed itself into Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology and Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, was established in 1963 under the technical cooperation between the Government of USSR and the Imperial Government of Ethiopia.

The Ethiopian Academy of Sciences (EAS) opened its Chapter Office in the BDU-EiTEX
The Ethiopian Academy of Sciences (EAS) opened its Chapter Office in the Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology (EiTEX), Bahir Dar University. The office is launched in the modern Green Digital Library of EiTEX which has convenient services to students, scholars, researchers and the community having community library sections.

ታህሳስ 18/2018 ዓ.ም (BDU_EiTEX) በባሕር ዳር ዩኒቨርሲቲ የኢትዮጵያ ቴክስታይል እና ፋሽን ቴክኖሎጂ ኢንስቲትዩት የቴክስታይል ሳይንስ እና ምህንድስና ምርምር ማዕከል "ለስነ-ምህዳርና አካባቢ ተስማሚ የሆኑ ለታቀደላቸው አገልግሎቶች የሚውሉ የቴክስታይል ውጤቶች ለዘላቂ እድገት" በሚል ርዕስ የመጀመሪያውን ሀገራዊ አውደ ጥናት አካሄደ፡፡
