Biography
I earned a PhD in Social Work and Social Development. I have a 2 decades experience in higher academic institutions as an academician, researcher, and community development worker. My professional experiences mainly focus on social determinants of maternal and child health, women and politics, peace and conflict, and social protection of vulnerable women and children. In terms of leadership, I have served as the dean for graduate office and the Head of Social Work Department, at Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia. Moreover, I had served as a board member at Mekdella Amba University. I have also opportunities to work in with different national and international organizations. For instance, with Plan International organization as youth advocate and lobbyist for sexual and reproductive health rights; served as a senior social development researcher for World Bank in the preparation of a social protection for the Ethiopian Fisheries Master Plan. With UNICF, I carried out an assessment on the implementation of the Ethiopia social protection policy. With SOAS University of London, I explored the role of parliamentarians in tackling child marriage. With Oxfam, Ethiopia, I have conducted an assessment on the status, needs, and priorities of women in in conflict and non-conflict situations in Ethiopia. With the British Council, I studied the role of university students in peace building efforts in Ethiopia.

- Conducted study that aims to explore the Role of University Youths in Peace-building Efforts in Ethiopia. Client: EUPE project for Enabling University Peace Education in Ethiopia (2023/24)
- Conducted a study on the current status of women, their needs and priorities in conflict and non-conflict situations in Ethiopia. Client: Oxfam and Network of Ethiopia Women Associations (2023)
- Conducted a study on Dynamics of Conflict, Mediation, and Negotiation in the Northern Part of Ethiopia, With Network of Ethiopian Women Association (2022)
- Worked as social Development expert for the national assessment for the Preparation of Fisheries and Aquaculture Master Plan of Ethiopia. Funded by World Bank, with Ministry of Agriculture & LFSDP (2023/24)
