As a dynamic Professional with a passion for innovation and development, I leverage my expertise in animal science, laboratory technology, and leather engineering to drive excellence in various fields. I have a BSc. in Industrial Livestock and Leather Technology plus a Diploma in Laboratory Science, Education and Industry from the College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Biosecurity (COVAB), Makerere University, Uganda. In addition, I possess International Diplomas in Sustainable Smart Agriculture from AgroStudies, Ruppin University, and SMEs Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Galilee International Management Institute, both in Israel. In March 2025, I enrolled for an MSc. in Leather Engineering at the Ethiopia Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology, Bahir Dar University.

As a Leather Technologist, I contribute to R&D at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources, and Biosecurity. In addition, my innovative spirit has led to the development of a Multinutrient Medicated Soya Block (MMSB) for Livestock. This innovation helps to increase milk production and general animal health. My academic background has given me a unique blend of skills, including Professional experience and entrepreneurship. I am committed to improving animal production systems, promoting sustainable leather technologies, and fostering the Circular Economy in the Industrial Livestock Sector. "Healthy animals for strong hides and skins" is my Motto.

I am Destine James Kikomeko a dedicated leather scientist and accomplished scholar in the field of leather technology and engineering. I hold a Bachelor’s of Science in Leather Technology from Kyambogo University Uganda, where I developed a strong foundation in the principles and practices of leather production and processing. My academic excellence and passion for advancing sustainable practices in the leather industry have distinguished me as a promising professional in this specialized field.

Currently, am pursuing a Master’s Degree of Science in Leather Products Design and Engineering at the Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology, Bahir Dar University Ethiopia, where am deepening my expertise in advanced leather processing techniques, product innovation, Research and sustainable engineering solutions. My research interests focus on improving the environmental impact of leather manufacturing and enhancing the quality and durability of leather products. I am actively engaged in academic and industry collaborations, contributing to innovative projects that bridge traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. 

Beyond academics, am committed to community engagement, promoting eco-friendly practices in the leather industry through research and Education. My goal is to become a leading expert in leather engineering, driving advancements that balance quality, sustainability, and economic viability worldwide.

I am Annah Orikiriza, a dedicated leather scientist and technologist with over six years of experience in leather technology and student mentorship. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Leather Technology from Kyambogo University, Uganda, and a diploma in technical teacher education from Kyambogo University. In March 2025, I commenced my Master's studies in Leather Products Design and Engineering at the Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology, Bahir Dar University, mastering in leather products design and engineering.

My academic career includes serving as a lecturer at National Instructor’s college Abilonino since 2024, and as an instructor in skills training projects, where I have been actively involved in lecturing, teaching, supervising projects, and school practice.

I have been serving as the head of department, leather tanning and leather goods production at National Instructor’s college Abilonino, since 2024 to date, and an instructor in skilling the boy and girl child, Central Kampala project from 2022-2024, and have participated in multiple capacity-building professional trainings.

Beyond academics, I am passionate about skilling people, innovation in leather products, and sustainability. My career goals are to skill people, advance leather products and leather technology through research, education, and industry collaboration, contributing to environmentally responsible and technologically advanced leather and leather products production at an international level.

I am Musiitwa Charles, a dedicated leather scientist and technologist with over five years of experience in leather technology and student mentorship. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Leather tanning Technology from Kyambogo University and a National Diploma in leather tanning from kyambogo university Uganda. In March 2025, I commenced my MSc studies in Leather Engineering at the Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology, Bahir Dar University, specializing in leather product design and Engineering.

My academic career includes serving as an Instructor at Kabasanda technical institute Mpigi Uganda of since 2023, where I have been actively involved in teaching, supervising industrial training and Real life projects.  I have involved in setting ,marking and supervising National Business and Technical Examination which has enhanced my skills of teaching and innovative which enabled me to execute my service as instructor  up to date information which is needed in the world of work.

I am a member of vegetable tanners of Uganda on how to process leather and sustain the environment under Africa leather and leather product institute (ALLPI) 2022.

Beyond academics, I am passionate about innovation in leather processing and sustainability. I am Kaudha Shamirah a dedicated master’s student at EITEX, Bahir Dar University, specializing in Leather Products Development and Engineering, l pursued a Bachelors degree in Leather Tanning Technology from Kyambogo University in 2022, Uganda, where l developed a strong foundation in the principles of leather production. During this academic process, l demonstrated a keen interest in sustainable leather production and innovative product design.

In addition to the bachelor’s degree, l holds a Diploma in Technical Teaching Education from National Instructors College Abilonino. My qualification has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of theoretical and practical aspects. My educational experiences have fostered me with a deep commitment to enhancing the leather industry in Uganda and beyond.

Prior to enrolling at EITEX, I worked as an instructor at Kabasanda Technical Institute in Uganda, l have shared knowledge and skills with aspiring leather technologists. This role not only honed teaching abilities but also reinforced dedication to empowering the next generation of professionals in the leather sector. I am passionate to develop sustainable leather production through work and research, aim to contribute to the growth and development of the leather industry, promoting excellence, sustainability and innovation.

I am Peter Nyenje, a dedicated leather scientist and technologist with over eight years of experience in leather technology and student mentorship. I hold a Bachelor of Science and a diploma of Science in Leather Technology from Kyambogo University and national diploma in institute management from Nakawa Vocational College, Uganda. In March 2025, I commenced my MSc studies in Leather Engineering at the Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology, Bahir Dar University, mastering in leather product design and engineering.

My academic career includes serving as an instructor, deputy principal since 2017 at Kabasanda Technical Institute mpigi Uganda, where I have been actively involved in teaching, assisting supervision of staffs and assessing industrial attachments. In 2023, a part-time lecturer National Instructors’ College abilonino in the department of leather technology, and in 2024, a part-time lecturer at the textile and leather department Kyambogo University, Uganda. I have fully participated in curriculum reviewing and conferences.

I am a director of PES Leather Works and a member Uganda Leather Association of Leather Technologists and Scientists (U.L.A.) and have completed multiple professional trainings in leather Tanning techniques, sustainability, occupational safety, tannery effluent treatment, and footwear design.

Beyond academics, I am passionate about innovation in leather processing and sustainability. My career goal is to advance leather technology through research, education, and industry collaboration, contributing to environmentally responsible and technologically advanced leather production globally.
