A team of academic staff of College of Medicine and Health Sciences reports the experience they have gained from the Karolina Institute (KI)-Sweden to the college senate.

(April 21, 2022, Bahir Dar): a team of academic staff of Bahir Dar University College of Medicine and Health Sciences reported the experience they gained and activities they carried out at the Karolina Institute (KI)-Sweden under the framework of Karolinska Institute (KI)-BDU LP Teacher Exchange Program agreement to the senate members and higher of the college.

As part of its continuing efforts it is putting into practice to achieve one of the college’s strategic themes, excellence in communication and partnership, thereby increase its internationalization, which in turn is believed to support the teaching, and research activities, and community and clinical service provisions, the college had sent a team of academic staff to Sweden from School of Medicine.

In their stay in Sweden, the team presented the college’s 10 year strategic plan, the curriculum of medical education, the college’s initiatives, areas of future collaboration, Tana Research and Diagnostic Center to Karolinska Institute staff and leaders. Besides, they visited the teaching, and research activities and clinical service provisions.

Dr. Tesfaye Taye, senior pediatrician at College of Medicine and Health Sciences and one of the team members who went to Sweden made the presentation to the senate officials.

The audience appreciated the partnership established with such one of the top-ranked universities in the world. It is hoped that the experience sharing practice will be done up to the department level.
