Dean’s Message

The School of Public Health (SoPH), a prominent institution within the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, operates from its own dedicated campus, the Felege Hiwot Campus, strategically situated in the heart of the city. Comprising six dynamic departments, SoPH stands at the forefront of public health education and research. These departments include:

1. Epidemiology and Biostatistics
2. Public Health Nutrition
3. Health Systems and Health Economics
4. Environmental Health
5. Reproductive Health and Population Studies
6. Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences

Offering a comprehensive array of academic programs, SoPH hosts six distinguished Ph.D. tracks alongside ten master's programs and one certificate program. The Ph.D. offerings encompass a diverse range of specialties, including Environmental Health, Public Health, Public Health Nutrition, Reproductive Health, Epidemiology, and Biostatistics.

With a dedicated faculty comprising 97 academic staff members, SoPH boasts a truly global perspective, with 26 adjunct professors hailing from various corners of the world. Notably, over 83% of the academic staff hold positions as Assistant Professors or above, showcasing the institution's commitment to scholarly excellence. Among its esteemed faculty, SoPH counts 20 Ph.D. holders and four full professors, further solidifying its reputation as a leader in public health education and research.
