Melkamu Teshome is accomplished legal professional and senior executive with nearly two decades of leadership experience across the judiciary, public administration, and the corporate sector. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B) from Bahir Dar University, a Master of Arts in Public Policy and Leadership from Amhara State University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Leadership Practice from the Nile Executive Leadership Academy (NELA) at Bahir Dar University (BDU). This academic foundation pairs with deep practical expertise in governance, legal counsel, and strategic management.
He demonstrated a strong commitment to public service during five years tenure as a District Judge within the Amhara National Regional State Supreme Court (2008–2014). In this role, he upheld the rule of law and managed complex legal proceedings with high integrity. He then transitioned to private practice as an Attorney and Legal Consultant (2014–2018), providing expert legal guidance and representation to diverse clients. His Proven executive leadership skills were further established while serving as the Chief Administrator for the West Gojjam Zone of the Amhara National Regional State (2021–2023). In this high-profile role, he directed regional governance, managed public policy, and led community development initiatives.
Currently he is serving as the Legal Affairs Director at Zemen Construction Corporation (2024–Present), overseeing and handling corporate legal strategy, contract management, negotiations and risk mitigation as well as handle legal proceedings representing the corporation.
