The Faculty of Social Sciences at Bahir Dar University held its 2018 E.C. annual report and 2019 E.C. annual plan meeting with academic staff and top management. The session brought together 92 academic staff members and members of the top management.

2018 E.C. Annual Report

Dr. Ayele Tariku, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, presented a detailed report covering:

✅ Student and academic staff statistics

✅ Key deliverables in teaching and academic growth

✅ Research and community engagement performance

✅  The challenges encountered during the academic year and the way forward

2019 E.C. Annual Plan

Following the report, Dr. Ayele presented the 2019 E.C. plan, aligned with the key performance indicators cascaded from Bahir Dar University.

Based on the report and plan, participants raised a range of questions and suggestions for the faculty leadership and the university management. Two senior officials responded directly:

🔹 Professor Delel Work, Executive Dean for the School of Graduate Studies addressed questions on postgraduate student intake, postgraduate student’s promotion, the role of advisorship, and expected deliverables.

🔹 Dr. Taye Demessie, Executive Director for Administration and Business Process, responded to questions relating to his office.

The session reflected the faculty's commitment to transparency, shared accountability, and continuous improvement in teaching, research, and community engagement.
