Project Duration: From 1 September 2019 to 31 July 2021

Description

This project was first proposed at the UEA UNESCO Chair international workshop on adult literacy and learning for sustainable development held in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia in May 2019; within the framework of UNESCO Chair in Adult Literacy and Learning for Social Transformation, established in 2016 at the University of East Anglia, UK.

The focus of the project was to raise awareness and build capacity of postgraduate students and early-career researchers on issues of indigenous and intergenerational learning and family literacy and how important it is to engage with indigenous and intergenerational learning activities. To accomplish this, in Ethiopia, early-career researchers and postgraduate students from Bahir Dar, Gondar and Woldia Universities took part in project activities under the close supervision and mentorship of the Ethiopian UEA UNESCO Chair team members.

The project was carried out from September 2019 to July 2021 in UNESCO Chair partners Ethiopia, Nepal, Malawi and the Philippines with the University of East Anglia UK, as a lead and coordinator.
