Brief Biography
Mr. Gedifew Sewenet is a  Senior Lecturer in the Department of Governance and Development Studies, Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Civic and Ethical Education from Arba Minch University, Ethiopia on July 15, 2010. Following his graduation from Arba Minch University, he joined the University again and served as a Graduate Assistant I, II and III. In October 2012, he joined Hawassa University to pursue his Master of Arts Degree in Governance and Development Studies with a specialization in Governance Studies.
Following his MA graduation on July 10, 2014, he served Arba Minch University at the lecturer position; he served the university with great work commitment and motivation.
On September 30, 2015, he joined Debre-Markos University to carry out the primary duties and responsibilities of the university and served as a lecturer for 1 year. After one year service at Debre-Markos University, he joined the Department of Governance and Development Studies, Bahir Dar University (BDU), Ethiopia, on August 24, 2016. Gedifew has more than 8 years of professional experience in the Ethiopian public universities. On November 28, 2019, he has promoted from Lecturer to Assistant professorship academic position. Bahir Dar University has awarded this position. He spends a lot of time working in the office.
In all of these public universities, he has engaged himself in conducting various research works and rendering community services to the people who are in need of and presented seminar works. Besides, he contributed his efforts in one of the postgraduate curriculum development committees of the department (i.e., MA in Governance and Development).
Gedifew has published scholarly articles in internationally reputable journals and publishers. He is working as an editorial board member in the International Journal of Educational Research Review (www.ijere.com), Turkey and Pan African Journal of Governance and Development Studies, Jimma University, Ethiopia. He has also reviewed many international papers submitted for publication in international peer-reviewed journals. Besides, he has examined MA theses papers by being internal and external examiner.
He has been working regularly to achieve the goals and objectives of the University (Department of Governance and Development Studies) by actively engaging himself in different activities (Teaching; Academic Council (AC) membership; Administrative positions; Committee works; Research and Community Services; Community service project coordination works; Publications of scholarly papers; Manuscript revision tasks; and Quality Assurance activities). Now, he lives in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia.
