STEM Center-BDU offers entrance examination

STEM Center-BDU offers entrance examination  at Jan-MosKov Library to recruit new grade 9 entrants for the 2015 E.C. academic year.

STEM Center at Bahir Dar University has been accepting students who have just been promoted to grade 9 and have a love for science to train them until they finish their high school studies for a few years now. For the program, students have been recruited on merit basis. In relation to this, nearly 150 students sit for the entrance examination today. The exam included a collection of questions from five subjects namely Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.  It is learnt that nearly one third of the students will be accepted for the new academic year.

Among other things the center has been conducting the summer outreach program which aims to provide hands-on training to upper elementary and high school students from Bahir Dar. This program and other similar hands-on training schemes delivered by highly qualified University professors from BDU aim at sparking interest in science for those students who barely get the chance to see scientific experiments in their schools.

We would like to warmly welcome our new students at STEM-BDU!
