Sport journalism is to be opened

Department of Journalism and Communication in collaboration with Sport Academy is planning to open Sport Journalism as a field of specialization at the Masters Degree level. According to the instructors from the two Academic Units, it is learnt that although the field is already benefiting the public through educating, giving information and as a source of entertainment at the larger scale, there has so far been no local University that launched this specialization both at first and graduate levels. In the brief event, It is also noted that in the Western countries, Sport Journalism is widely used and appreciated field which, since recently, is even supported by technology. Therefore, to realize the opening of the program the two academic units are working jointly to initiate need analysis study shortly and finalize the preparations.
