=============================================
A team of Bahir Dar University’s academic staff from across different programs has returned home after a one week successful teaching and training mobility visit to Sivas Cumhuriyet University in Sivas, Turkey. The staff mobility is conducted within the frame of the interinstitutional agreement between Bahir Dar University and Sivas Cumhuriyet University based on Erasmus+ KA 107 International Credit Mobility Project.
In their stay at Sivas Cumhuriyet University, participants met and discussed with the President, Prof. Alim Yıldız, as well as with academic and administrative staff of the University. They also visited different facilities in the university including laboratories, libraries, a teaching hospital and classrooms.
The participants of the mobility reflected that the visit has helped them acquire knowledge and specific know-how from good practices abroad, increase their knowledge of social, linguistic and cultural affairs, gain skills relevant to their current job and professional development, and build up new contacts to expand their professional networks.
This mobility is believed to create spin-off effects like curriculum development, development of joint courses and modules, academic links, and research collaborations, thereby significantly supporting the internationalization efforts of Bahir Dar University.
The two institutions have agreed to sustain their collaborations also through other modalities, and a memorandum of understanding is being developed to guide these intentions.
A continuation of this same program, a second team of six academic staff is set to visit Sivas Cumhuriyet University for the same purposes by the end of April.
