BDU and Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands sign MoU

MoU signed between BDU and Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands 

Bahir Dar University and Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly work on agriculture.  

Dr. Tesfaye Shiferaw, Vice President for Research and Community Services and Mr. Meeuwes Brouwer, Agricultural Counselor, signed the agreement on behalf of Bahir Dar University and the Embassy, respectively. The agreement aims to strengthen the development of agriculture/horticulture sector particularly in Amhara region and generally in the country.

Areas of cooperation between the parties include jointly developing and conducting demand-driven capacity building training programs for students and professors as well as commercial and small scale horticulture sector development, organizing national and international seminars, conferences and workshops on topics of mutual interest, creating a collaborative linkage with universities and industries, promoting Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices, and  providing technical support and collaboration on improving the cold chain and processing facility establishment as well as post-harvest technology.
