Asnaqu Dagne was the first female graduate of Poly-Technic Institute, BDU-BiT, in Industrial Chemistry in 1963 E.C. Unique to the previous 4 batches, the 1963 E.C. class were admitted from grade 12 and graduated together with those admitted from grade 10 because of curriculum reform. Asnaku belonged to those admitted from grade 12 for the first time.
