The Nile Executive Leadership Academy (NELA) at Bahir Dar University (BDU) is excited to announce the Leadership Development Program (LDP) for the 2026 training year!

This six-month, on-the-job program is designed to cultivate the next generation of strategic, adaptive, and impactful leaders. Upon completion, the trainees will be awarded a postgraduate certificate in advanced leadership practice.

Program Details:

• Program Name: Leadership Development Program (LDP)             
• Host Institutions: Nile Executive Leadership Academy (NELA), Bahir Dar University (BDU)
• Program Goal: To empower and inspire the next generation of system-oriented, strategic, and adaptive leaders to transform individuals, teams, organizations, communities, societies, and the ecosystem at large.
• Training Period: Six months (hybrid—face-to-face and virtual)
• Class Start Date: February 9, 2026
• Certificate Awarded: Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Leadership Practice

Application Requirements:

To be considered for this prestigious and uniquely designed training, please submit the following:

1. Application letter (max of 2 pages)

2. Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)—1-page executive summary and copies of your credentials (certificates, degrees, etc.)

3. Essay on leadership (maximum 1000 words)

4. Learning Journey—High-Impact Leadership Capstone Project conceptual framework  with action and M&E plans (maximum 5 pages)

5. Proof of formal institutional/community-level leadership experience (witnessed by an authorized immediate supervisor)

6. Proof of volunteer leadership engagement (witnessed by immediate supervisors)

7. Three recommendation letters from teachers and an immediate supervisor

8. Hold a minimum of a master's degree (MA, MSc) MD, DVM, DDM, or equivalent

9. Sponsorship Letter (for non-private applicants)

10. Application fee of 300 ETB, deposited into the Bahir Dar University account, CBE: 1000013099522
