Bizuayehu Gashaw Andualem is a highly accomplished healthcare professional with a proven track record of leadership and management in various roles. Bizuayehu's academic background is rooted in biomedical science, with a bachelor's degree from Jimma University, Ethiopia. He furthered his education with a master's degree in healthcare and hospital administration from the same university, and he earned his PhD in biomedical sciences at Bahir Dar University, demonstrating his commitment to advancing his knowledge and expertise in the field.

Bizuayehu's professional journey spans over two decades, with experience in various leadership roles. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of MeDx Ethiopia and Vice Board Chair of the Governing Board of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences/Tibebe Ghion Specialized Hospital at Bahir Dar University. He has served as the Deputy Head of the Amhara Regional Health Bureau, Chair of the Governing Board of University of Gonder Teaching Hospital, Chair of the Governing Board of Bahir Dar University's Tibebe Ghion Specialized Hospital, CEO of Felege Hiwot Referral Hospital, and Head of the South Wollo Zonal Health Department. In these roles, he has consistently demonstrated his ability to develop and implement effective strategies, manage resources, and improve healthcare outcomes.

Some notable accomplishments include establishing medical oxygen plants that provided affordable access and fast response and strengthening the universal health coverage system through community insurance, emergency surgery at primary health units (PHUs), mid-level health workforce development, and standardizing healthcare facilities at the optimum quality level by preparing guidelines and creating a "fast track" blindness prevention strategy that provided eye operation opportunities for over 300,000 people. He also has extensive experience in research: he has published over 35 peer-reviewed articles and 2 book chapters.
