Dr. Alemtsehay Mekonnen is a distinguished Associate Professor of Reproductive Health at Bahir Dar University, holding a PhD in Public Health and a postgraduate certificate in Advanced Leadership Practice from Bahir Dar University. With over 20 years of academic and leadership experience, she has made significant strides in institutional capacity building, teaching, research, and community services, with extensive publications in her field.

Her leadership roles have encompassed Director of Public Health Education and Services, Department Head for Reproductive Health, Community Service Coordinator, and Coordinator of national and international projects. She serves as the African Women Researchers Team Leader at the Bahir Dar site and has played a pivotal role in establishing the Nile Executive Leadership Academy at Bahir Dar University, contributing to its development, curriculum design, and module preparation.

As a dedicated professional and seasoned leader, Dr. Alemtsehay serves on national associations, including the Ethiopia Midwifery Association, Family Guidance Association, and Ethiopian Women Researchers Association.

Recognized as an ambassador and female mentor at the Amhara Public Health Institute, her work has had a profound impact on reproductive health and leadership development.
