Bahir Dar University has honored Emeritus Professor Mohammed Salih with a prestigious recognition award in appreciation of his outstanding service and enduring contribution as a lecturer, researcher, and doctoral supervisor in the University's PhD Program in Political Science and International Studies.
Speaking at the recognition ceremony, Dr. Ayele Tariku, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, praised Professor Salih for his decade-long service as an Adjunct Professor at Bahir Dar University. He noted that Professor Salih has demonstrated exceptional dedication and professionalism over the past ten years, making remarkable contributions to academic excellence, scholarly mentorship, and the capacity building of young researchers.
Dr. Ayele Tariku further highlighted Professor Salih's generous donation of numerous academic books to the University and his significant role in nurturing the next generation of scholars. He emphasized that Professor Salih's commitment to higher education, research, and academic mentorship has left a lasting legacy that will continue to benefit the University and the wider academic community.

The President of Bahir Dar University, Dr. Mengesha Ayene, commended Professor Salih for his invaluable contribution to the institution.
"Professor Salih's service to our University has been truly extraordinary. Words are not enough to express our gratitude," Dr. Mengesha said.
He further stated that Professor Salih's dedication to academic excellence, his mentorship of students and young researchers, and his unwavering support for the University deserve the highest appreciation.


"Working alongside Professor Salih has been a great privilege for our University. His wealth of knowledge and experience will remain a lasting legacy for future generations of scholars," he added.
Receiving the award, Emeritus Professor Mohammed Salih expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the recognition.
"My time at Bahir Dar University has been one of the most rewarding periods of my academic career. The University has truly felt like my second home. I have always been proud to work with such a distinguished institution, and I sincerely thank the University for this meaningful recognition," he said.
