Faculty of Computing - RESEARCH

The Faculty of Computing, being a component of BiT, adheres to the research policies and guidelines established by BiT. BiT outlines research guidelines for staff-led projects. Eligible applicants include full-time BiT staff, expatriates with valid contracts, and researchers with proven outputs like publications or patents. Proposals must align with BiT’s research themes and involve at least two researchers (six for mega projects). Each researcher can participate in only one project as a PI or Co-PI.

Proposals are first reviewed at the faculty level, then by SRGS through a multi-step evaluation. Public presentations are required. Funding is released in two phases—50% upfront and 50% after progress reporting. Final reports and summaries are due within a month of project completion and must be presented at seminars.

Failure to comply with reporting or plagiarism rules can lead to penalties, including fund reimbursement and suspension. Research outputs are jointly owned by BiT and the researcher, while equipment stays with BiT. Researchers are expected to publish, present, or apply their work practically.
