TESFA TEGEGNE (Assoc. Prof.) Dean, Faculty of Computing | The Faculty of Computing is one of the five faculties at the Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, which is affiliated with Bahir Dar University. Our mission is to provide a comprehensive education that equips students with the skills necessary for success in both undergraduate and graduate programs. We prioritize a hands-on, lab-oriented teaching methodology, moving away from conventional lecture-based instruction. A tracer study conducted by the Bahir Dar Institute of Technology in 2019 indicated that more than 86% of our graduates have secured employment in various organizations, both within Ethiopia and abroad. In today's global information technology landscape, there is a significant demand for highly qualified graduates. In response to this need, our faculty is dedicated to cultivating graduates who meet and exceed international standards. Our team comprises 132 staff members, including 2 associate professors, 16 assistant professors, 69 lecturers, 11 assistant lecturers, 3 graduate assistants, and 31 technical staff. A considerable number of our faculty members are young and actively engaged in diverse initiatives, such as developing enterprise solutions, providing training, conducting research, participating in community outreach, and delivering high-quality teaching. |
