The faculty of Social Sciences has organized two days of intensive training on Software Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis on June 13 and 14/2022. The Training was given by Yihenw Alemu (Ph.D.), an Anthropologist by training who has an ample experience in teaching and training Research methods. The Training aims at enabling the postgraduate students to develop the skill of using Software for Qualitative Data Analysis. The training was focused on introducing the basics of the Qualitative Research Approach, qualitative data analysis methods, Categorization and Coding in Qualitative Data Analysis, and Introduction to MAXQDA- qualitative data analysis software.
Much of the attention was given to introducing MAXQDA software. The trainer has introduced the MAXQDA interface, coding and analyzing data using the software. The training was accompanied by active participation and discussion from the participants. More than 75 postgraduate students have participated in the training.
