  • 1988-1992- Bachelor of Arts in History (Addis Ababa University).
  • 1998-2001-Master of Arts in History (Addis Ababa University). Title of thesis: “The Ethiopian Claim on the Monastery of Dei res-Sultan in Jerusalem, 1850-1994.”
  • 2005-2012- PhD in History (Addis Ababa University). Title of the Dissertation is “Political Satire in Ethiopian History, 1913-2005.”
  •   2003/2004-Higher Diploma in Teaching (Bahir Dar University)

  • 1992-1995       Taught History at Adet Senior Secondary School in West Gojjam
  • 1996-2003    -Taught Ethiopian and African History courses at the Gondar College of Teacher Education.

  1. Advised scores of BA and MA students. Titles include History of numerous Churches and Monasteries of the EOC, Environmental History of different districts and specific localities in Ethiopia, and topics on other aspects of Ethiopian history.
  2. Published a book entitled: Ethiopia’s Claim on Deires-Sultan Monastery of Jerusalem, 1850s-1994.
  3. Published an article on the Journal of Ethiopian Church Studies, Vol.3with the title “The Ethiopian Religious Community and Its Ancient Monastery, Dei res-Sultan, In Jerusalem from Foundation to 1850s.”
  4. Current research undertakings:  The Impact of the Military Regime in Ethiopia on the economic status of the EOC; the environmental history of Lake Tana Basin
