PERSONAL STATEMENT
- I have MA degree in Gender Studies from the Institute Gender Studies, Addis Ababa University in 2008 GC and BA degree in History from Addis Ababa University in 2006. I have also accomplished a one year PhD Proposal Development Program that was given by University of South Africa in collaboration with SANTRUST in 2011. In 2014, I have promoted to the rank of an assistant professor in Bahir Dar University as I have profoundly participated in various research works and shown an excellent teaching ability. In addition, I have delivered several trainings for various organizations.
POSITIONS AND HONOURS
Leadership Positions and Employment
- Department Head of Gender and Development Studies, Bahir Dar University, from 2012 to 2017.
- Coordinator of a joint project between Bahir Dar University, UN Women and Amhara Regional Women, Children and Youth affair bureau and the aim of the project is to establish ‘Transformative Leadership for Gender Equality Training Center in Ethiopia’.
- Founder and Vice President of Ethiopian Gender Professional Association.
- Nov.2009 Up to now lecture in Bahir Dar University. Mainly offering various courses in the Postgraduate Programs including: Research Methods (GeDS6041), Gender & Public Policy (GeDS7031), Gender & Economic Issues (GeDS6022), Feminist Theories (GeDS6012), Development Theories and Perspectives(GeDS6013), and Gender, Conflict and PeaceBuilding. Guest lecturer and Thesis Examiner at Gondar University.

- Member of VLIROUS-IUC large scale project, under TISP gender sub theme, funded by Belgium government.

- In all my teaching careers, I have been evaluated and rated by students as either very good or excellent teacher
- In 2014, 2015, and 2018, the faculty of social science has awarded me as the ‘Best Teacher’ of the department of Gender and Development Studies.
