Call for Abstracts

In collaboration with the University of Bonn and Bahir Dar University, a scientific workshop on “Designing Innovative Livestock Breeding Strategies for Ethiopia” will be held at Bahir Dar University from 30 May to 02 June 2023. The workshop events include plenary sessions, panel discussions, and field visits. The workshop is expected to stimulate the formulation of expert and stakeholder-driven breeding strategies to foster sustainable livestock improvement programs by creating awareness of junior scientists to be key players in the future of animal improvement programs. Besides, the workshop will provide a greater prospect to establish short, medium and long-term joint research collaborations between international and national high learning and/or research institutions. Therefore, the workshop organizing committee is pleased to invite all interested in the field to submit extended abstracts that can fit in one of the sessions of the workshop which includes livestock breeding policies, priorities in the design of livestock breeding programs, and the role of molecular genetic approaches in livestock improvements programs in Ethiopia. Junior scientists (postgraduate students and those who completed their M.Sc. or Ph.D. studies in the last 3 years) are highly encouraged to submit abstracts. The abstract submission is open until 10 May 2023.
