(Bahir Dar, Ethiopia – June 18, 2025) – The School of Veterinary Medicine at Bahir Dar University (SVM-BDU) is proud to announce the fifth installment of its esteemed Friday Seminar Series, set to address a critical topic for the future of the profession. The upcoming session will feature a presentation by Prof. Asaminew Tasew, Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, on the urgent need to revolutionize veterinary and animal sciences education.
Under the title “A Call to Transform Veterinary and Animal Sciences Higher Education through Practical Skills Development and Entrepreneurial Competence,” Prof. Asaminew will outline a visionary path for curriculum reform. The seminar is scheduled for Friday, June 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM in Hall-1 of the Zenzelma Campus.
This session is designed to engage our academic staff from SVM-BDU and the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences in a vital dialogue. The core objective is to bridge the gap between academic theory and the dynamic demands of the industry by prioritizing hands-on practical skills and fostering entrepreneurial competence in our graduates.
The seminar is open to all interested faculty and staff, as we collectively work to shape an educational framework that prepares our students for the evolving challenges and opportunities in the field.
