Bahir Dar University, August, 23,2025(BDU). Bahir Dar University (BDU) has announced a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chemical Industry Corporation, solidifying a strategic partnership to bridge the gap between academia and industry. The collaboration, spearheaded by the Bahir Dar Institute of Technology (BiT-BDU), is set to advance joint initiatives in research, technology transfer, and practical, industry-based education.
The MoU establishes a clear framework for collaboration across four key areas: consultancy services, technology transfer, capacity building, and efficiency improvement. This agreement highlights a shared commitment to fostering innovation and enhancing the competitiveness of Ethiopia's chemical industry. The partnership will create a dynamic ecosystem for knowledge exchange, driving industrial growth and developing solutions for real-world challenges.
The collaboration is expected to create new opportunities for students and faculty, including:
1. Joint Research Projects: Faculty and students will work on projects directly relevant to industry needs.

The official signing ceremony occurred at the Skylight Hotel, with Dr. Menegesha Ayene, President of Bahir Dar University, and Dr. Eng. Hundessa Desalegn, CEO of Ethiopia's Chemical Industry Corporation, officiating the agreement.
