Ethiopian Land administration Professionals Association Re-established

 

The Ethiopian Land Administration Professionals Association (ELAPA) is reestablished by the general meeting held in Addis Ababa on March, 03/2020.  The association is established as a non-profit making and non-government organization according to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Agency for Civil Society Organizations proclamation no. 1113/2011 and it is registered by registration number 2061. Bahir Dar University Institute of Land Administration in collaboration with USAID Land Governance Project and other partners took the initiative for the re-establishment and re-registration of the association.

As we all know the development of land sector in Ethiopia is at its infant stage.  Thus, the association is established with a purpose to take part and to shape land policy and governance directions in Ethiopia by provide informed and knowledge based advice supported by practical and implementable researches conducted based on real societal problem. The association is also aimed to provide a range of platforms for the exchange of experiences and ideas for land sector professionals in Ethiopia. Addressing the needs, wishes and priorities of its member is another purpose of the association.

The Association in its first general meeting held in Addis Ababa on March 3/2020, the Association’s head office is decided to in Bahir Dar and its branch office Addis Ababa. Bahir Dar University and Ethiopian Geospatial Information Institute promised to support the association by providing office and office facilities. The   same general meeting has elected Dr Achamyeleh Gashu as President, Ato Solomon Kebede as V/president, Ato Taye Minale as Secretary, Ato Amezene Reda as Finance Section Head and other five executive committee members of the association who would serve the association for the next three years.
