Duties and responsibility of course chairpersons

Course chairs of ILA shall be responsible to undertake the following:

  1. To serve as a member of the program council.
  2. Coordinate the preparation and implementation of course materials and continues assessment (course guidebooks, quizzes, useful exercise, assignments, exams, etc).
  3. Assign instructors who will be teaching the specific courses for all type of programs and communicating their loads to the program managers consistent with appropriate collage/school workload expectations.
  4. Checking and assisting program managers in preparation of class schedule.
  5. Organization of gust lectures, filed experience and other related activates to students in the courses.
  6. Producing and organizing local knowledge in the course.
  7. Organizing tailor made trainings.
  8. Recommending the program manager on course subject to revision and demanding for further approval of the academic commission or curriculum committee or the senate. 
  9. Work together with the program management and marketing case team in the development and evaluation of course and programs in the faculty or schools.
  10. Address students’ academic problems in the course.
  11. The chair should be receptive to questions, complaints, grievances and suggestions from staff members and students with regards to the provision of courses. The chair has the responsibility to take appropriate action as required.
  12. Authorized use of university property changed to the course system and assigning faculties to authorized activities in accordance with the demand of the course catalogues and staff members.
  13. Monitor the presence of staff on duty and communicate to the program manager/dean any deviation of the regulations.
  14. Reporting to the dean/program manager, or appropriate administrators, non compliance with all existing conflict of interest management plans within the course system.
  15. Reporting to the dean/program manager, or appropriate administrators, whenever the problem cannot be expeditiously resolved at the program council level-any failure of an academic or staff member to carry out responsibilities, and recommending appropriate remedial and/or disciplinary action.
  16. Follow up submission of grades on time to the customer’s relation office.
  17. Checking of the fair allotment of grades to the students.
