4th Sino-Africa International Symposium on Textile and Apparel and Sino-Africa Culture Exchange Forum hosted by BDU-EiTEX and Donghua University had been successfully accomplished.
Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology –EiTEX, Bahir Dar University and Donghua University, China hosted Sino-Africa International Symposium on Textiles and Apparel and Sino-Africa Culture Exchange Forum on September 17th - 18th, 2018 collaboratively at Bahir Dar University. This symposium had a great opportunity to bring stakeholders together to discuss on strategies to develop the textile and apparel sector collaboratively. The symposium was officially opened in presence of Ato Sileshi Lemma, General Director of Ethiopian Textile Industry Development Institute, Min Zhu, Chairperson of Donghua University, and Dr. Firew Tegegn, President of Bahir Dar University.
Several research works related to textile and apparel research works were presented during the event. Also agreement to supervise PhD and Post doc. Students were signed between the two universities. Donghua University agrees to give atleast three scholarships to EiTEX annually. In addition, they will dispatch their professors to Ethiopia offering technical assistance to the local textile industry.
As parts of Sino-Africa Culture Exchange Forum, guests of Donghua University enjoyed with Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony, visits of monasteries on Lake Tana, Fasil Palace in Gonder, cultural night club at Checheho and other places in Bahir Dar.
