Bahir Dar University School of Law Won the 4th Ethiopian Law Schools National Moot Court Competition of March 2020

Bahir Dar University School of Law had organized the 4th Ethiopian Law Schools National Moot Court Competition in collaboration with Justice & Legal Research and Training Institute from 12-15 March, 2020. The Competition provides a unique opportunity for Ethiopian Law students to engage in an intellectual exercise on the current and sensitive issues of Investment and Arbitration Laws that enhanced their substantive understanding of the subject matter and developed an expertise in advocating a position before an arbitral panel.

The competition consists of both oral and written competitions. Initially seventeen universities were applied to participate in the competition. However, only twelve universities, including Bahir Dar University, were qualified to the Oral Round. Bahir Dar University School of Law represented by three students, Solomon Shumetu, Abo Bedahsa and Etsubdink Workineh and the Coach Mr. Adam Denekew made successful pleadings both in the oral and written competitions. Remarkably, it won three of the awards of the competition namely; “Winner of the National Champion”, “Winner of the Best Memorial” and “Winner of the Best Individual Oralist”.
